Fort of five clans, ruins situated at the panchet hills, Purulia. Best time to visit – October to March.

Garpanchkot, or Garh Panchkot, was part of the Singh Deo dynasty and is located at the southern foothills. Several temples still stand as reminders of the dynasty’s history, showcasing different architectural styles. The main temple is a ‘Pancharatna’ style, along with ‘Jor-Bangla’ and several stone-built ‘Pidhastyle temples. The Pancharatna temple features some worn but beautiful terracotta work on its arches and pillars, likely from the pre-Muslim period. About 500 meters uphill from the main ruins, there is ‘Dhara,’ a perennial spring that flows through a stone structure resembling a cow’s mouth.
