It is said that these temples were built by the kings of the Baj Basanta Dynasty and date back to the 17th century. These temples were built as a tribute to the family deity, the goddess Mowlakshi. The Global Heritage Fund (GHF) has identified these temples as one of the world’s twelve most endangered cultural heritage sites. You may find several structures/houses built very next to these temples.
Location : Dumka Jharkhand.
Dumka is well connected by Road.
Best season to visit – winter. But may be visited round the year. Typically, a tourist spend 1 hour in this site. Adjoining the area, the temple of Ma Mowlaskhi is situated. People offer prayers in this temple. You wont find and decent eateries near the temple sites. It is advisable to carry food and drinking water during the visit.
