A sudden trip to the Mandar Hills situated in the Banka District of Bihar resulted in amazing experience in terms of journey by road with my bike.

The hill is made of granite, and the same is of religious importance to Hindus and Jains. It’s is believed that the site is of the samudra manthan or churning of the ocean. The hill has many temples and inscriptions.

According to legend, demon Madhu was defeated by Lord Vishnu, and some believe that Lord Vishnu lived in the hills.

I reached the location by riding a motorcycle with fellow travelers from Suri and reached the hills.

The journey was itself enchanting. Some glimpses of the journey, location, and atmosphere are given in the gallery.

Few option of eataries when I visited and tourists do come in the winter season and during festivals.
